Your takes
belong to you.
TakeJam is built around local recording and editing. This policy explains the app, this website and the information you choose to send us.
Effective September 19, 2026 · Sun Ryse Software LLC
No account. No advertising trackers. No TakeJam media uploads. Your recordings, selected photo hints, video imports and cue boards are processed on your iPhone. We do not upload them to servers operated by Sun Ryse Software LLC.
Information in the app
TakeJam stores recordings, imported video copies, exported clips and saved custom cue boards with their photo hints locally on your device. It uses this information to show cues, record performances, review clips and create exports.
The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics trackers, and it does not use your content for advertising or AI training. There is no TakeJam account or public content feed.
Permissions and selected imports
- Camera and microphone: requested when you choose Open camera or Record a take, and used for camera preview and capture. You can manage these permissions in iPhone Settings.
- Photos: the system picker lets you choose individual photos as cue hints or a video to import. TakeJam receives only the items you select; this does not grant access to your entire photo library.
- Files: the system file picker lets you choose a video. TakeJam copies the selected file into its local library.
Photo hints are saved with the board as resized JPEG copies, at most 1,280 pixels on the longest edge. The copy is rendered without copying source metadata such as location or camera details; the new JPEG may contain ordinary encoding fields. This does not remove information visibly present in the photo itself. Original photos and imported source videos are not modified or deleted. Photos, iCloud Drive or another file provider may download a selected item according to that service’s settings and privacy practices.
Keeping and deleting information
Local clips remain until you delete them in the app or remove the app’s data. Deletion removes the selected file; original takes, imported copies and exported versions are separate. Delete each version you no longer want.
To remove a saved photo hint, edit its board, remove the photo and Save, or delete the board. This removes the hint from the saved board, not the original photo in Photos.
Deleting a TakeJam file does not delete its import source, a copy already shared elsewhere or a backup. Manage those copies in their respective apps or services. Removing TakeJam from your iPhone removes its local app data, subject to your device’s backup and restore settings.
Apple purchases and Studio
The planned app download is free. TakeJam Studio is an optional auto-renewing subscription at $49.99 per year in the US. Apple handles billing through StoreKit and your Apple Account; Sun Ryse Software LLC does not receive your payment-card details. The app uses Apple-provided purchase and entitlement information on the device to check Studio access and restore purchases. It does not send these records or your media to a developer-operated server.
Apple bills the annual amount after purchase confirmation. Renewals continue until you cancel and may be charged during the 24 hours before the next yearly period. To avoid another charge, cancel at least 24 hours before renewal in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. No trial is offered in this launch plan. Apple’s purchase services and diagnostics follow Apple’s privacy practices.
After Studio ends, existing recordings stay available to view, share and delete; saved boards remain available to view, rehearse and delete. Recording, editing or export already in progress may finish to preserve work. Expiration does not upload or delete your media.
